HGS-HIRe Lecture Week on Hadron Physics - October 2019 - Laubach

Date

October 21-25, 2019

Topic

The nature of hyperons and their properties in nuclear matter

Lecturers

Theory: Laura Tolos (IEEC-CSIC Barcelona)
Experiment: Benjamin Dönigus (CERN & U Frankfurt), Manuel Lorenz (GSI & U Frankfurt)

Coordinator

Gerhard Burau (HGS-HIRe)

Agenda

HGS-HIRe lecture weeks are crossdisciplinary events that cover experimental, theoretical and technical aspects of a particular research field together. This year's lecture week on hadron physics will focus on the nature of hyperons with particular emphasis on their properties and behavior in nuclear matter. Aspects like hyperon-nucleon and hyperon-hyperon interactions, hyperons in nuclear matter and in neutron stars will be addressed.

The lectures will be given by established experts of this field of reasearch, who are extremely knowledgeable and didactically experienced. Doctoral students who are working and/or interested in hadron physics or related research fields are very welcome to attend this lecture week.

For registration please send a brief email to info[at]hgs-hire.de as soon as possible.
