Summer Student Program 2011

The summer student program 2011 at GSI is co-organized again by HGS-HIRe. Undergraduate students will come to GSI for the summer to work on a small research project and to participate in a special lecture program. The lectures are open for all HGS-HIRe participants as well. Interested students can apply here

HGS-HIRe is supporting the Quark Matter Conference 2011 in Annecy/France and has made special arrangements to make it as easy as possible for HGS-HIRe participants to attend the conference.

Helmholz-Rosatom School for young scientists at FAIR 2011

In February 2011 the first joint "Helmholtz-Rosatom School for Young Scientists at FAIR" will be held in Hirschegg in the Kleinwalsertal. The school is a joint event of HGS-HIRe together with the FAIR-Russia-Research-Center in Moscow. Details

HGS-HIRe Perspectives

What's next after the PhD? Not all HIRe participants will stay in fundamental research but will aim for leading positions in applied science or industry. To aid a possible search for alternatives HGS-HIRe brings together professionals from applied science and industry who graduated in natural science with current HGS-HIRe participants. Details

January 2010

Exhibition "Die Weltmaschine"

HGS-HIRe and the Physics Department of the Goethe University hosted the exhibition "Die Weltmaschine" in Frankfurt in January 2010. The exhibition was presenting the physics, the experiments and the technological challenges of the Large Hadron Collider LHC at CERN. The participants of HGS-HIRe and their fellow researchers guided through the exhibition and presented their science to the general public. Details Exhibition
December 2009

One Year HGS-HIRe

The first anniversary of HGS-HIRe was celebrated with a festive event in Frankfurt. On this occasion the first HGS-HIRe excellence awards were presented to Gabriel Denicol and Alexander Kalweit for their outstanding achievements during their doctoral studies. Agenda Photos
